Concept
Bliss
Bliss is the non-dual feeling Kriya Yoga points toward, unlike happiness, which swings with its opposite. It begins as body bliss of the parasympathetic system, first tasted in the Four Proofs, grows as OM Japa cleans each chakra, and deepens into the bliss of the left amygdala. Heading toward bliss rather than energy keeps practice on track.

00:09“He told me, point yourself towards bliss.”04:33“And so what I want to give to you today is a tiny progression that we can use to feel that bliss in our nervous system right away, and it doesn't mean it's going to be immediate, lickety split.”03:42“And this is one of the reasons that the Kriya Yogis keep directing you towards bliss.”00:02“I often talk about bliss, especially bliss of the dorsal vagal complex.”01:41“But I want to talk about this agony that the heart can feel of while it's feeling bliss.”00:01“Today I want to talk about the Kriya Yoga Bliss program.”01:41“So I wrote to Ashokji an email, and I said, well, you know, I'm trying to understand the bliss that you have guided me towards.”13:12“I said, well, let's try and see if we can get you just a tiny bit of bliss, because he he wanted to experience bliss.”01:01“I think when I look over my relationship with my teacher, my meditation teacher, my Kriya teacher, the one thing that sticks out to me the most is the teaching of bliss.”00:01“Today, I wanted to give a progression that pretty much guarantees that you're going to feel a little bit of bliss in the body.”05:32“And so, we have to know what Ananda is, and follow the Ananda.”07:19“So these are all expressions of the heart knot, and this coincides with something else, which is very very deep, and that is one of the deepest experiences of bliss.”10:08“But when it is deep enough, the ananda comes through.”08:01“When I started training with Ashokji, he told me, "Point yourself towards bliss in Kriya Yoga.”14:49“Ashokji told me, you can't go wrong when you're heading towards bliss.”15:56“These are very blissful states, and you can really soak them in and enjoy the blissfulness of it, because oh my god, it's delicious.”04:30“So they will get into the right brain one way or another, and it will be lots of peace, but no joy.”12:42“It might not be bliss yet, but if I hold that pressure in my mind, if I hold my attention there, it will turn into tingling, and the tingling will turn into bliss.”18:29“It's such a burden, and so when the freeze goes up and that burden goes down, you will get this relief, and that relief will give you joy, and so the freeze response will give you bliss eventually.”02:03“When I talk about the big bliss, this is the big bliss.”15:43“You know that bliss is supposed to show up, but for a yogi who is only concentrated on the non-dual state, or for a Buddhist who is only concentrated on nothingness, that bliss can take a very, very long time to show up, and so what's happening?”03:32“And it took me about three more years, and I found bliss in every single chakra.”11:09“So when the bliss arises, wasn't that the purpose of the Kriya?”09:26“It is bliss that is coming up in you.”06:05“She was calling me, and she goes, I'm at work, and I'm getting all this bliss, and somebody tells a joke, and I can't stop laughing.”04:26“When you put your mind on these small pieces of bliss, they will grow, and it's a little bit slow, so you have to be very patient with it.”12:49“We notice out of that it begins to tingle or tickle along the spine, and finally that tingling becomes blissful, and it might be so small.”05:16“That origin is where you encounter the bliss.”16:52“You can also place your mind on bliss if you feel bliss or you generate bliss, or if you remember the cute baby meditation and you generate bliss, you create a connection with bliss.”01:35“And so he's standing there in the middle of the kitchen, washing dishes, washing the counters, and all of this bliss starts to explode from his heart.”04:28“If we will put our mind on bliss, and if we will put our mind on consciousness, which includes love and forgiveness and expansion and all these beautiful things, when we put our mind on those really, really important points inside of ourselves, it's much, much more fulfilling than energy.”07:45“I can feel just an oh so light tickle along the spine, and that is the beginning of bliss.”15:47“Sometimes we don't know what bliss means.”12:26“So going to the origin, it leads us to bliss.”18:20“That's a whole body sensation, and it's usually extremely blissful, or at least pleasurable, or a tiny bit ecstatic, and so that's the building of bliss, right?”09:34“Well, yes, that's extremely important, but ignoring bliss is not a good idea.”11:31“Ashokji always emphasized bliss to me, always all the time, and and I would I would tell him about energetic stuff that was happening to me.”06:14“Let's make sure that that part of the brain is active in meditation and it's working correctly, because when this body bliss gets really really big, it will overcome your psychology and it will put you into a very very deep state, because it just washes everything out because it's so much bliss.”08:21“So Forrest, the inner ecstasy is so much today.”03:13“It's it's really bliss, and when it hits you in full force, it's an avalanche.”00:45“So when you hear about a yogi or a saint who is accessing this avalanche of bliss over their being, over their soul, that is the bliss of the left amygdala, and that's what I'm teaching in this training.”05:13“The dorsal vagal nerve, when you experience it in meditation, it is blissful.”19:33“Bliss does not have a dual.”02:14“Head yourself towards bliss.”05:11“And oh my God, the bliss, the bliss starts to happen.”11:43“We start to taste the upper nervous system, love, compassion, joy, bliss.”08:24“What if you have bliss?”01:02“You know, I talk about bliss quite a bit, so it's quite natural that every once in a while somebody accuses me of being a bliss bunny.”11:47“The Kriya Yoga program is a bliss program.”02:19“And Ashokji told me when you get back here, this is where you start feeling bliss inside of the chakra, and I found that to be absolutely true.”15:04“As my guru said, head yourself towards bliss.”18:42“When you point yourself towards those, towards bliss, what is he talking about?”21:12“As Ashokji told me, follow bliss; it will always lead you in the right direction.”06:11“And it reaches the point where you can just put your mind on the spine, and you feel bliss.”00:59“They say, 'You're not finished until you find that bliss.'”06:34“Oh my God, I feel bliss.”10:45“Just sit with it that way and notice, and you will see it will become delightfully blissful.”07:38“I'm grasping for meaning and love and joy and bliss and this profound sense of knowing and expansiveness.”20:07“We want that bliss, which is at the origin, okay?”08:02“I think I'm getting a little trickle of bliss.”13:37“The bliss will come when you are in distress, and it will reassure you in a way that no other kind of answer possibly could.”12:10“Because the right amygdala is a gauntlet to bliss on the other side.”09:46“He taught me take that one step farther, feel bliss, then take that one step farther, feel the consciousness rise up in your body and go back into the brain.”04:18“And so the yogi says, I feel bliss, and that's the beginning of that bliss is that dorsal vagal coming into play.”05:13“That's another one: bliss, joy, anything like that, any kind of joy or tingling.”00:23“And so, we're going to look at that piece of the brain specifically today, and how we can use it to generate bliss in meditation.”08:07“So now you're in meditation and you're experiencing the bliss of the body, in the four proofs, and you know deeply that you have resonance between the breath and the heart.”13:02“This is the body bliss, and it's amazing, and it tells you that you are absolutely on the right track in meditation.”07:17“He puts his attention on the whole body, and he can relegate how much he's outside and how much he's inside, using that perception of the entire body, because otherwise the bliss is overwhelming for him and he can't he can't function in his everyday life.”06:47“So, there's the Body Bliss, and then there's the Big Bliss, and so I'm going to be talking about both of those, training both of those, mostly the very, very Big Bliss.”
