By Ashok Kumar Singh, , 5 min read

Summary

Ashokji on what Kriya adds to walks, therapy, devotion and philosophy: ping each chakra with OM and listen for bliss, which is not happiness; keep that bliss all day through a feedback loop; and in a long Kumbhak let God become the guru.

You can feel temporarily great and blissful by:

  1. Taking a walk
  2. Go for jogging
  3. Swimming
  4. Sleeping or resting
  5. Vacationing
  6. Camping
  7. Having sex
  8. Etc.

You can also benefit from:

  1. Talking to a Psychiatrist
  2. Devotional religion
  3. Logical Discussion
  4. Studying religious philosophy
  5. Intellectual Yoga: Who am I, or Vipassana, etc.
  6. Eightfold path
  7. Etc.

After practicing all the above preparatory steps you are ready for Kriya Yoga of Lahiri. The laboratory for the Kriya Yoga practice is our own body. In particular the brain and spinal cord is where the practice is performed locating the six out of seven chakras in the cerebro-spinal region. The lower six chakras are the database of our personality, behavior, incentives, desires, volition, past memories, knowledge of all kinds, and sanskara and more. The chakras are source of our genetic code, DNA and RNA.

The beginners of Kriya Yoga simply ping the chakras with Om mantra and try to listen to the response of each pinging. If the response to the pinging is any other experience than Bliss (Ananda), (then) it means that we are in the grips of the material world bondages (grip of Maya) and are not able to silence the material world bondages even for a moment. So the Kriya practice is very direct and straight forward. Just feel blissful for a moment in your life during the practice as the initial step. Example of Ananda or bliss in mundane or material world is clearly given during the initiation of the Kriya Yoga. Ananda (bliss) is not the same as happiness even though Ananda is the source of happiness and all other emotions in the spectral form. . Later a feedback loop of automatic guidance and control is given to keep that peace and bliss all day long no matter what we do. That bliss connects us to God and results in self realization and total union. There is nothing as direct and thorough cleansing of our deeply rooted mundane personalities as Kriya Yoga is. In the beginning for few minutes twice a day, later maintaining the peace and bliss all day long by the Kriya Yoga, yet totally involved in our mundane duties.

All the Advaitya (non dual experience, witness of God (Self)), questions of who am I really gets answered by practicing Kriya when your Kumbhak is long, peaceful, blissful. You do not need any other type of Guru or philosopher to make you realize that. In the Kumbhak God reveals herself, and becomes your Guru. You do not need any other person to show you that. This realization is well described in the Shrutis called the Vedas so it is verified by the Rishis in the beginning of time. In the Kriya practice you begin to hear them as you are totally surrendered in Kumbhak and have no preconceived ideas, notions, but total attention to God. So you do not need anyone to ask who I am, your Kumbhak is answering that for you.

A time will come when you “stop” reading books, going to Earth websites, Utube and this and that.

It is time to go into Kumbhak during Kriya-1 and connect to Anando-Pranic website. Listen to God in Kumbhak and get a divine down load to your body-mind-soul computer called Shrutis. I have given you a way to directly get it from God. So go to that divine website. It does exist. Stop wasting your time while asking questions from anyone but God.

Let us look at our lives from the beginning:

At birth we are tiny eggs confined in our mother’s womb. Unbeknownst to us and our doctors we grow from an egg to become a fetus, we develop brain and spinal cord, our protective skeletons and skin, we survive a confined womb space for nine months, and finally we are born. While growing up our beings become a battle field for germs, bacteria, viruses attacking our anti-bodies our protective systems. All unbeknownst to our and our doctor’s knowhow we survived from the beginning of our planet/universe. Also let us look at the migration patterns of the birds which are ancient and more sophisticated than any guidance and control system we make at our Boeing Company. Same is true for the migration patterns of turtles, whales, and other animals.

Kriya Yoga says that this is possible because we/universe owe our existence as waves on an omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent ocean of energy continuum which sustains the material, animal, thoughtful-emotional-humans (also animals). As humans we get “attached” to our “finite wave forms” and forget/disconnect from the knowledge of the presence of this Ocean (Sat-Chit-Ananda or Matter-Consciousness-Bliss). Yet the Ocean is always there in life and beyond sustaining us. Whatever you see (by the senses) is That and whatever you do not see is That. Kriya Yoga reconnects (makes us aware, as we forget or get lost in our sense play) us with that Energy (Sat-Chit-Ananda) while working. So you are recharging while you are working (without compromising the work). In your very busy and hard work you need this practice, this vacation while working knowledge. Thank you for all you do. May you do it for eternity in good health.

Kriya Yoga reconnects (makes us aware, as we forget or get lost in our sense play) us with that Energy (Sat-Chit-Ananda) while working. So you are recharging and rejuvenating just as you did in your mother’s womb or when you live a healthy life. Every creature on the Earth or elsewhere is surviving because of that energy (Sat-Chit-Ananda) so reconnect to it blissfully and rejuvenate.
