Concept
Holy Trinity of Breath
The Holy Trinity of Breath is three rules that box the breath into HRV resonance: stay under seven breaths per minute, make the outbreath longer than the inbreath, and take out the pauses at the top and bottom. Kept up for five to ten minutes, they reliably bring resonance; breath holds come later, on top of this base.

The Holy Trinity of Breath Induces HRV Resonance
A six-minute video given entirely to the three rules, with the reason behind each one.

Breathe through his three entry ratios (five in and six out, six and seven, seven and eight) to find a comfortable starting rate.

Once the paced videos feel familiar, this shows how to keep the three rules by feel and then check for the proofs.

04:19“I start doing this long breathing, and the HRV resonant breathing it has three things which are the primary points.”02:59“We need to drop our breath rate into seven breaths per minute or lower.”00:14“And so I use a term there in the video, the Holy Trinity of Breath, and I want to get into that.”03:22“Well, to do it, I'm going to give you three rules, and this is kind of unique because if you look out there, you won't get these three rules unless they're getting it from me, which is wonderful.”06:38“That's and you do that through your breath, so it's resonant breathing, and the way that I teach it is the holy trinity of breath.”08:41“And so let me give you the holy trinity, so you make sure you get all three points.”07:11“So the the three, what are the rules for heart rate variability?”02:20“So step number one with all good breath work, step number one, we want to lower the breath rate down below seven breaths per minute.”00:00“I want to give you the holy trinity of breathwork, okay?”04:56“A reduced breath rate, take out the pauses, and make the exhale slightly longer than the inhale.”01:16“So I want to give you the holy trinity of breath work, okay?”01:09“Step number two is a reduced breathing rate.”03:22“But very quickly, the three rules of heart rate variability is one, get your breath rate under seven breaths per minute.”01:06“That's the holy trinity of breath, right?”07:12“So I like to call it the holy trinity of breath.”08:18“Two, take out the pauses, and three, make that out breath slightly longer.”00:00“All right, we're going to induce heart rate variability resonance by using the holy trinity of breath, and all you need to do is find the breath that's comfortable for you and follow along.”00:01“We're going to induce heart rate variability resonance by using the holy trinity of breath.”00:01“We're going to induce heart rate variability resonance by using the holy trinity of breath, and all you need to do is find the breath that's comfortable for you and follow along.”00:01“We're going to induce heart rate variability resonance by using the holy trinity of breath, and all you need to do is find the breath that's comfortable for you and follow along.”00:02“We're going to induce heart rate variability resonance by using the holy trinity of breath.”00:02“We're going to induce heart rate variability resonance by using the holy trinity of breath.”06:37“He didn't tell me the Holy Trinity.”01:58“So heart rate variability, it's just so scientific and simple, it's very, very difficult to mess up when you use the holy trinity of breath.”05:00“if you reduce the breath rate and you make the out breath longer and you minimize the time that you're at the bottom of the breath at the top of the breath you just keep cycling the breath then you will automatically get into heart rate resonant breathing”06:57“So when you sit to meditate and you sit very still and you reduce the breath rate and you take out the pauses and you make the outbreath slightly longer and you sit very still and you don't move, then the first thing that you that you want to notice is that your hands, both of them, become hot and heavy.”01:06“We need to take out the pauses of the breath, so the breath is easy and smooth, and we need to make sure that the out breath is slightly longer than the in breath.”
